"The historic Proud Bird restaurant at the Los Angeles
International Airport, which had been rumored to be closing after
failing to agree to a long-term lease with airport operator Los Angeles
World Airports, isn’t taking off after all.
Runway Two-Five Corp., which owns the restaurant, agreed Wednesday to a 20-year lease extension, worth more than $4.5 million over its term.
The owners of the restaurant, which features several early airplanes on its premises, expect to spend more than $5 million upgrading and refurbishing the property, according to a press release announcing the deal."

Emergency Jacked Up Photo, A.K.A., The Three-Legged Virgin.
In case anyone was on a deserted island, you may not have heard of the Virgin Atlantic B747-400 which had quite an issue on January, 29th. VS43 (G-VROM), departed LGW, bound for LAS, when the starboard wing bogie decided to stop cooperating with the whole gear-sequence-thing, thus creating quite a problem for all concerned parties.
After exhausting all options for a resolution, and having dumped sufficient fuel, the Captian made a manageable situation almost catastrophic by executing the worst student pilot landing on film, blowing out nine tires in the process, thus fouling up the runway for hours in what should have been a fairly routine arrival.
Well, any landing you can walk away from...
